[Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 14, 2024] — Huawei Digital Power is setting a new benchmark in renewable
energy with the launch of its groundbreaking FusionSolar C&I OASIS Solution at the Malaysia PV & ESS Safety
Forum & Product Launch 2024. Malaysia is the first country in the Asia-Pacific region to introduce this
innovative solution, which is poised to accelerate the nation’s transition to green energy while enhancing
safety and efficiency in commercial and industrial solar installations. The forum, held at the Sunway Resort
Hotel, attracted over 300 participants, including industry leaders, enterprise representatives, experts, and
government officials, underscoring the critical importance of safety in photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage
systems (ESS).

Simon Sun, CEO of Huawei Malaysia, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting Malaysia's green energy
growth. He highlighted the approaching era of PV and Energy Storage (PV+ESS) parity, where the combination
of solar power and energy storage will become the most economical and universal form of power. Simon stated,
"As PV energy generation improves and the costs of solar panels decrease due to growing market supply and
demand, the era of PV+ESS parity is on the horizon. FusionSolar, the integration of battery and solar, is
gradually becoming the renewable/green energy of choice of the masses, helping to reduce dependence on
diesel generators, and lessening economic as well as environmental impacts. This means that combining solar
power with energy storage will become the most prudent and universal form of power."

Innovations in Inverters and ESS
In addition to the FusionSolar C&I OASIS Solution, Huawei showcased its new C&I SUN2000-150K and
SUN5000-150K inverters, alongside the industry-leading C&I Hybrid Cooling ESS LUNA2000-215 series. Zhang
Qiwei, Marketing Orientation Director of C&I Smart PV Business at Huawei Digital Power, emphasized the
importance of active safety features in these inverters. “Today we are launching 2 new products, the SUN5000
industry-leading 150K high capacity inverter and the new hybrid cooling ESS. The new inverter features
SafeLink, ProfiLink, and Smartlink, and the new C&I ESS features C2C dual-link safety and lower LCOS,” said
Zhang. These inverters also feature the industry’s most advanced arc-fault circuit interrupter (AFCI), with
a detection range of up to 450 meters and the ability to shut down currents in 0.5 seconds to safeguard
energy assets. The industry leading C&I Hybrid Cooling ESS emphasizes on Hybrid Cooling technology and
Pack-level Optimization 2.0, which improve ESS benefits and increase project ROI by 4.6%. These innovations
promise enhanced energy yields, simplified installation and delivery, and improved O&M experiences.
We are delighted to have had the esteemed participation of all keynote speakers at the event, who
highlighted the landscape, challenges, requirements and business cases sharing in the Malaysia. These
included Davis Chong, President of Malaysia Photovoltaic Industry Association (MPIA); Ir. Dr. Chua Kein
Huat, Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM), HRDC Accredited Trainer,
Chairperson (Centre for Railway Infrastructure and Engineering, UTAR); Yong Chian Haw, Solution CTO of
Digital Power Smart PV Development, and Mohamad Naqib Bin Mohd Najib Solar Solution Manager Huawei
Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
