[Tokyo, Japan, February 19, 2025] – Huawei Digital Power participated in the Japan International Smart
Energy Week, which was held at Tokyo Big Sight from February 19th to 21st, 2025. Huawei Digital Power
showcased cutting-edge energy solutions at two prominent venues: the Japan International Battery Expo
(Battery Japan) and the Japan International Photovoltaic Expo (PV EXPO).
During the event, a wide range of digital power solutions was showcased, including PV and energy storage
systems for all-scenario FusionSolar Smart PV solutions, including residential, commercial & industrial
(C&I), and utility-scale solutions. Additionally, high and ultra-high voltage power project solutions
and green data center solutions were also presented.
As global carbon neutrality goals continue to progress, the solar-storage industry is facing unprecedented
opportunities. Huawei has introduced its latest energy storage solutions, including the LUNA2000-21-NHS1 for
residential use, the LUNA2000-215-2S10 for C&I applications, and the LUNA2000-4472-2S for utility-scale
storage.
The LUNA2000-21-NHS1 energy storage system consists of an energy storage control unit and battery expansion
modules. It stores and releases energy based on the needs, managing the charging and discharging process for
home solar-storage solutions. The electrical-level protection provides comprehensive safeguards against
overcharge, overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating, and includes triple external short-circuit protection,
ensuring safety for residential use.
In the event, Hattori Daiki, Huawei's Digital Power Account Manager, highlighted the new LUNA2000-215-2S10
ESS, set for launch in 2025. Addressing challenges in the C&I sector, this next-generation system boasts
high efficiency, with a cycle efficiency of up to 91.3%, and prioritizes safety with advanced features such
as fire suppression, active smoke ventilation, and multiple protection measures, ensuring reliable and
secure operation. The solution not only provides efficient energy storage but also ensures safe energy use
in parks, driving the industries shift toward more sustainable energy.
In the rapidly growing large-scale energy storage industry, Huawei's energy storage systems have earned
widespread recognition in the Japanese market. Huawei is introducing the next-generation LUNA2000-4472-2S
and LUNA2000-4.5MWh battery energy storage systems, both offering higher energy density through the latest
liquid cooling technology. The LUNA2000-4472-2S BESS features seven layers of protection, including advanced
technologies for cell isolation, fire safety, and thermal management. It ensures system-level security
against thermal runaway with real-time managing, gas fire suppression, and rapid cooling. The system also
passes extreme short-circuit tests, providing comprehensive safety from cell to grid.
In addition to energy storage solutions, high and ultra-high voltage power project solutions and green data
center solutions, were also prominently exhibited at the event.
Huawei Digital Power remains committed to shaping the future of energy through sustainable technologies and
intelligent solutions. Through collaboration with global customers and partners, we strive to drive the
shift of solar-storage to become the primary energy source, ensuring green power is accessible to industries
and households around the world.
