Kela PV Power Plant Phase I

The Kela PV Power Plant is located in the Yalong River Basin in China's Sichuan Province, at an altitude ranging from 4,000 to 4,600 meters. The project covers an area of around 16 million square meters, equivalent to 2,000 standard football fields. With an enhanced installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts, the Kela PV Power Plant features more than 2 million PV modules and connects to the Lianghekou Hydropower Plant through a 500-kV transmission line, combining solar and hydropower to maximize power efficiency.

Thanks to Huawei FusionSolar, the Kela PV Power Plant can withstand extreme environments, including cold weather, high altitude, and low air pressure, are no longer concerns. It can operate seamlessly at high altitudes (4,000–4,600 meters) and low temperatures (below –30°C), achieving more usable energy, higher reliability, simple O&M, and easier grid-connection approaches.

    Huawei Smart PV Solution enables the Kela PV Power Plant to produce an additional 1%+ of usable energy by utilizing the Smart Tracker Control Algorithm (SDS). This increase in efficiency is achieved by capturing more sunlight in complex terrains or during backtracking in the early morning and late afternoon, or on cloudy and rainy days.
