HUAWEI CONNECT 2023 | FusionSolar: Making the Most of Every Ray
[Shanghai, China, September 20, 2023] HUAWEI CONNECT 2023 was held in Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center and attended by thought leaders, business elites, technical experts, and industry partners around the world. In the Digital Power exhibition area, FusionSolar showcased all-scenario PV+ESS solutions, demonstrating the utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and residential solutions and benchmark cases. Utility-scale solution exhibition area
Utility-scale
FusionSolar provides the Utility-scale Smart PV & ESS Solution to meet the requirements of various application scenarios. The solution brings benefits of lower LCOE, grid forming, safety and reliability, as well as digitalization. To address the challenges from high renewable penetration, the FusionSolar Grid-forming Solution uses smart string architecture and grid-forming algorithm to improve the power grid's capability of renewable energy integration through voltage, frequency, and power angle regulation.
In Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, Huawei cooperated with the Yalong Hydro to build the first phase of the Hydro-Solar Hybrid Project at Lianghekou Dam on the Yalong River — Kela PV Plant. It has the world's largest installed capacity at the highest altitude (4000 to 4600 meters). The plant has been grid-connected since June 2023. The installed PV capacity is 1 GW, with an average annual energy yield of 2 billion kWh, saving more than 600,000 tons of standard coal annually, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.6 million tons. This project has become a showcase where PV can help local economy and infrastructure development, like agriculture and animal husbandry, tourism, and transportation, and create more jobs.

C&I
For C&I scenarios, FusionSolar provides integrated, collaborative, safe, and intelligent optimizer+PV+ESS+charger+grid+management system, which is named C&I Smart PV & ESS Solution. It focuses on the five core values of active safety, optimal electricity cost, long-term reliability, simplified O&M, and optimal revenue to help various industries go green and low-carbon.
In Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, Yotai Digital Energy uses FusionSolar C&I Smart PV & ESS Solution to build a one-stop urban pilot site that contains a 131 kW PV system, 200 kWh ESS, and 600 kW liquid-cooling ultrafast charging dispensers. Thanks to the ESS deployment, all PV power can be self-consumed. The site generates the annual energy yield of 120,000 kWh, saving CNY108,000 in electricity costs per year and reducing carbon emissions by nearly 60 tons.

Residential
For residential scenarios, FusionSolar offers the "1+4+X" Residential One-fits-all Solution. The solution integrates the one (1) model of inverter and four (4) core products including the optimizer, ESS, charger, and management system for multiple (X) home appliances, providing users with whole-house backup power in pursuit of a home that always shines.
A villa in Spain adopts FusionSolar’ s residential solution with a 6 kW PV system, full-configuration optimizers, 10 kWh ESS, chargers, and EMMA home energy management assistant to improve the proportion of PV power for home appliances and achieve a self-consumption rate of nearly 100%. Although the roof is shaded by air conditioners and parapet walls, the optimizers can still increase the installed capacity by 60% to make full use of the rooftop area. In addition, the EMMA can schedule surplus PV power to be stored in the ESS in the daytime and supplied to home appliances at night, maximizing PV power consumption. Furthermore, the chargers can enter the PV Power Preferred mode and preferentially use PV power for charging, saving about 450 euros a year.
